Jesus falls for the first time

The contemplation of the Third Station leads us to recognising in the Lord’s fall the reality currently being experienced by people throughout the world and especially here in Gabon.  Here are some examples to illustrate this:

• Lack of parental supervision means young people are left to their own devices and often succumb to juvenile delinquency.
• Inadequate attention given to the educational system leading to overcrowding in classrooms.
• Destruction of nature and its wonders.
• During this period of COVID, with the closure of churches where young people learn life-giving values, we have seen a growth in the numbers of them finding themselves idle and falling into anti-values such as robbery, alcoholism and drug abuse.
