On August 4th a massive explosion ripped through the centre of Beirut killing hundreds and injuring thousands more. The explosion shook the port area of the Lebanese capital flattening buildings and causing significant damage to other buildings and homes.
Already extremely fragile politically and staggering under the devastating effects of the COVID 19 pandemic, this catastrophe is the last straw that has overwhelmed the people of Beirut.
All this has seriously compromised the ability of the academic centres to provide education to young people.
For this reason the Religious of Jesus and Mary, through the General Government of the Congregation, has launched an emergency appeal.
All donations and contributions to this appeal will go directly to educational services and humanitarian aid in Beirut.
