12th October
Feast of our Lady of Pilar
We began the day with a prayer and reflection based on Chapter II of the Pope’s letter in the Year of Consecrated Life, in which he invited us to be prophets in order to Wake up the World! and to be experts in fostering communion.
During the morning session and part of the afternoon, we dedicated some time to reflection on providing some orientation for the bicentenary celebration of the foundation of our Congregation. Here are some of the questions that guided our reflection:
- What would Claudine do?
- How can our celebration reflect our charism, priorities, desires, concerns, family spirit and preferences?
After the group sharing, we met together in the assembly to share the fruits of our reflection on how to make our celebration one of thanksgiving, simplicity, and marked by a family spirit.
Sr. Francoise Barras, speaking on behalf of the commission that has worked on revising the Book of Government, shared on the work that has been realized, and presented the draft. With her in this commission are Sisters Inmaculada Tuset (Spain) and Lizbeth Vega (Mexico). We thank them for this good work.
We ended the day honoring Our Lady of Pilar, Patroness of Spain, with a Mass celebrated by Fr. Ignacio Echarte, SJ, Secretary General of the Society of Jesus.
