13th October
During the morning session of the 13th of October, Consuelo Mengual (The Spanish lay woman, responsible for AFJM) and Sr. Elisabeth Ides shared with us about the life of the different groups of the Association of Family of Jesus and Mary throughout the world.
Live the past with gratitude: The Association began with the Beatification of Claudine Thevenet in 1981 and was officially recognized in 1995. It has received great help and contribution from Sisters Irene Legier and Francoise Barras.
Live the present with passion: The association has 1437 members in many groups in different countries including places where there is no presence of the Religious of Jesus and Mary.
Embrace the future with hope: The members of AFJM want to give a new impetus to the family of Jesus and Mary and want to contribute, animate and encourage the groups especially those with young people.
They want to make the charisme more alive and to collaborate in more direct ways with the life of the Congregation, faithful to the charisme of Claudine, service to the church and to us.
In the afternoon, we reflected on the amount that each province should give to manage the Generalate and collaborate with provinces and works which are the poorest.
We ended with a mass, giving thanks to God for this day.
